JDC Area 33 – Sunday Lunch - June 21st - The Maybush, Waldringfield |
![]() |
It was a double bonus
Father’s Day for the men of JDC Area 33 at Sunday Lunch this month;
not only were we excused cooking the Sunday Lunch (be honest ladies
you know we always do it!) but we got to drive our P&J’s all the way
to Waldringfield in Suffolk. This was our third visit to the popular
Maybush Inn alongside the river Deben near Woodbridge. The lucky group included Reg & Ronnie; Tina & Bernie; Terry & Caroline; Alan & Margaret and Eric & Linda. |
| Of course Alan yet again flouted Lunch Rules by arriving in a non Jaguar; however after visiting the car park to view the offending vehicle we saw a beautiful Lakeland Blue Bentley GT with that fantastic W12 6.0Ltr engine! Excused boots Alan! | ![]() |

| A vast selection of
dishes was shown on the “wall menu” ranging from cold seafood
selections including Crab and Lobster, to good old fish and
chips or fisherman’s pie. Meat was also available ranging from
Lamb shanks or Beef steaks to Chicken curry and some veggie
dishes also; the problem being which one to choose! As before, servings were more than generous, although as always starters and/or desserts were never excluded for some of us! A convoy of three Jaguars on the home run, with Terry’s XJR and Bernie’s & Eric’s XKR’s, down the A14 and A12 gave the other Sunday trippers a real show of Grace, Pace & Space and completed an excellent Father’s Day Sunday Lunch taken in great company and at a fine location. See you next time. Eric Hoile |
