Sunday Lunch Report – February 22nd - Grahams on the Green, Writtle

Having had a very enjoyable meal at Grahams last year it had to be the first venue on our Sunday Lunch list for 2009 and it clearly proved memorable.
Last year I thought 19 attendees was a record but this year we had 21 Area 33 members turn up!

The dry morning was an excellent opportunity to get the P&J out of the garage, give it a wash and polish and blow away those winter cobwebs.
Last year saw a variety of Area 33 member’s cars including a Bentley Continental, Healey 3000, E Type, XJS and XK’s; plus the owner, Graham’s, XK150.
This year transport was a more conservative Jaguar line up although I believe one did arrive with the top down but put it up for the homeward journey. Late afternoons in February can get quite chilly, don’t you know!

Lunch again was excellent overall although those who chose roast beef missed the small print that it was Rib of Beef. Consequently, the lean was pretty mean and the fat had too much of that!
If you were training for the cross channel swim it may have boosted your fat requirement for insulation but not for cholesterol conscious Sunday lunchers; however, company and conversation were as always, excellent.
Grahams did make amends by finding leaner cuts for those who asked.

See you next time
